DIY Lip Balm

The product for April is “DIY Lip Balm”.

There was a list of all the contents on the back of the information sheet.

There were only a few ingredients needed to make the lip products: shea butter, peppermint essential oil, sunflower oil, and beeswax.

The recipe made three tubes of lip balm and three pots.

There were sugar and honey included to make a lip scrub and stickers to label your lip balm.

This is a look at everything in the box.

All the instructions for the project are online. The first step was to melt the stickers to the tubes and pots.

To make the lip balm recipe, you melt the sunflower oil, shea butter, and beeswax pastilles.

I added some lipstick to the ingredients, for a slightly tinted lip balm.

Once everything melts, you pour into the pots and tubes. I didn't have a pourable container, so this step was very messy. I wish there was a small funnel in the box.  I was able to fill the pots. There was a hair tie in the box to bundle the tubes while they set. This keeps them from falling over. I didn't take a picture of the lip scrub, but it's just two packets of sugar and one packet of honey.

The lip balms turned out great. I ended up using all the essential oil in my batch, so they smell strongly of peppermint, which is a good thing.

Final Thought: I have always enjoyed crafting and DIY projects, so this box is always fun. I love makeup, so making my own lip balm right up my alley. This got a bit messy, but it all turned out well. If you want to subscribe, you can save $7.00 on your 1st box, just use this link with the coupon BOXMOM7.
